Live steam railroads, like Little Tweetsie, have been popular as long as steam railroads have exited. Walt Disney turned the hobby into Disney Land and Disney World. Others have turned them into businesses, also. Still others simply enjoy the hobby, like we do, here at Banner Haven B&B.
From backyard layouts with small circles, like Little Tweetsie, to huge railroads with miles of track, the hobby has come a long way from the bumble beginnings with toy trains in attics and basements.
This page has pictures and links to friends with other railroads.
If you have a live steamer, gas engine, electric switcher or anything else you would like to share, please let us know.
First, we want to thanks Banner Haven Bed and Breakfast, for hosting Little Tweetsie Railroad. We hope to make many railroad improvements in the near future and it wouldn’t be possible without a place to lay track. If you’re interested in booking a stay, please visit, Banner Haven Bed and Breakfast website.
We also want to thanks Megan and Justin Trivett, without who’s help Little Tweetsie would not run very well. They operate High Country Small Engine, in Sugar Mountain and Banner Elk. If you need anything fixed, large or small, give them a call, 828-387-6863.
We invite you to support our friends and neighbors, like Banner Haven and High Country Small Engine. Businesses like these are the reason we can continue to exist.
If you want to share your business here, please contact us at Greg@LittleTweetsie.com.
